National Tempus Office and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialised Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, upon the initiative of the EC Directorate for Education and Culture, organised the Tempus Information Day for all higher education institutions of the Republic. The event took place at the Ministry of HSSE on March 6th, 2008. First Deputy Minister of HSSE in Uzbekistan Muhiddinov Akmal, Ambassador of France in Uzbekistan H.E. Hugues Pernet and the Head of Europa House in Uzbekistan Mr. Pierre-Paul Antheunissens greeted the conference participants with welcoming speeches. Representatives of 6 EU member states as well as of international
organisations operating in the sphere of education including Konrad Adenauer
Foundation, Goethe-Institute, British Council and KOICA attended the conference. The number of conference members - 118 out of 145 of originally registered
participants - included 12 representatives of branch ministries, agencies and
organisations, 84 representatives from 60 higher education institutions of the
Republic (39 representatives of regional HEIs ). Presentations made during the Tempus Information Day
Tempus Information Day dedicated to the beginning of the next phase of the programme - Tempus IV (2007-2013) – will be held on March the 6th, 2008, in the conference hall of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialised Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Representatives of higher education institutions of the republic, branch ministries and organisations, embassies of EC member- and candidate states as well as representatives of international institutions operating in the sphere of education will take part in the conference.
Application procedure for a new call of Tempus IV will be presented by Mrs. Claire Morel, Programme manager for Tempus in Central Asia, EC Directorate General for Education and Culture (Brussels, Belgium). Latest News: TEMPUS IV The new call for proposals under Tempus IV has been published on the programme web site (http://ec.europa.eu/tempus). The planned deadline for submission of project proposals will be 28 April 2008 The application forms in English, French and German should be available on this website by mid March.

Tempus III (2000-2006) has come to an end on 31.12.2006. The last deadline under the current programme phase was 15 December 2006. The content and modalities of the new Tempus programme (2006-2013) are currently being developed. There will be no deadlines for the submission of proposals during the first semester 2007. The call for proposals is now open and the deadline for applications is postponed from 31 January to 28 February 2007 for actions starting in the academic year 2007-2008.
